UPM® Cold Mix – Permanent Pavement Repair Material and Asphalt Patch

Commercial Grade Cold Mix Asphalt Patch

For over 60 years UNIQUE Paving Materials has been manufacturing commercial grade cold mix asphalt patch products as a key pavement preservation treatment used in all climates throughout the US.

Our cold mix asphalt patch products have outperformed others in filling potholes, stopping crack progression, and preserving pavement in unusually high traffic areas.

The Right Cold Mix Asphalt Patch Formulation Based on Temperature

Effective cold mix asphalt patches need to be resistant to moisture damage and freeze and thaw cycles as they are often used in adverse weather conditions.

Our season-specific cold patch formulations are ideal for use year-round
on highways, roads, driveways and more.

Our region-specific cold patch formulations are a custom, high-performing cold patch formulated to outperform others in regional conditions.

UPM® Cold Mix Workability Temperature Guidelines
The temperatures below are guidelines to aid in selecting the ideal workability characteristics for installation:

Winter mix – specially formulated with an optimal viscosity to be workable in colder weather (40° F and below)
We guarantee our winter-grade formula stays workable in freezing temperatures or we will replace it.

Spring/Fall mix– specially formulated with an optimal viscosity to be workable during spring / fall temperature ranges (40° F–80° F)

Summer mix – specially formulated with an optimal viscosity to be workable in warmer weather (80°

How UPM® Cold Mix Measures Up

We work hard to ensure the our asphalt patch lasts longer than other asphalt repair products.

Our skilled laboratory technicians consider these properties:

  • Cohesion
  • Workability and stability
  • Cold workability
  • Stripping
  • Film thickness
  • Sieve analysis

Why Cohesion Matters

The high cohesion in UPM® Cold Mix prevents the aggregate from separating from the binder, creating a highly uniform bond with maximum durability.

It also prevents crumbling, cracking and overall deformation under a traffic load, plus it helps the cold mix bind together during compaction to reach an optimal density.

Why Workability Matters

A highly workable mix flows easily into potholes and fills the hole better, enabling compaction into a super dense layer.

The high workability of UPM® Cold Mix creates smoother surfaces, improving appearance and resistance to wear. It also requires less labor because it takes less time to apply.
